Class Information:
Dates: Apr 21, 28, May 4, 11, 18, 25
Students will learn the basics of wheel throwing by forming and throwing simple shapes on the potter’s wheel. More advanced students will build upon the basics to create larger, more advanced projects.
Weeks 1-4 are for creating, and weeks 5-6 are for glazing. Break week is for firing. Finalized pieces can be picked up the first week of the next session at your last class time, even if you are not registered for the next session. Notice will be sent out to all students once the firings are complete.
PLEASE NOTE: All students must be able to follow instructions and work independently with further help as needed. Working with the wheel requires moderate upper body strength, using shoulders, arms, and hands to mold and shape clay.
Ages 18+

Carrollwood Cultural Center
What is the Carrollwood Cultural Center?
It’s where a 5-year-old girl discovers that she’s an artist, a 70-year-old man discovers he’s a musician, a 35-year-old woman learns ballet and a family grows stronger by sharing the stage together.
It’s the banquet hall where Anna married Luis. It’s the meeting room where Jennifer launched her career. It’s the stage where Oliver found a family and a Music Man traded swindling for love.
The Carrollwood Cultural Center is much more than a building. It’s the place where strangers become friends and friends become family.
Above all, it’s a place where a community came together to prove—and continue to prove–that ordinary citizens can, through their labors and generosity, determine the culture of the place in which they live out their lives.
